Sarkodie wins BET Best International Flow Award at 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards to make history (Watch Video)
Africa’s most decorated rapper, Sarkodie has won the BET International Flow Award to set a new record at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA.
For winning this award from the newest category, Sarkodie has made history for becoming the first African artiste ever to be nominated and win at the same time. (Watch the video below)
Michael Owusu Addo as he’s known in private life beat top competitors including Falz(Nigeria), Ghetts (U.K), Kalash(France), Lil Simz(U.K), Nasty C(South Africa), and Tory Lanez(Canada) to win the award.
The Best International Flow Award is a new category which has been introduced by BET to recognize the hard work of artistes from different countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, UK, France, Canada, among others.
Sarkodie who dedicated the award to his daughter Adalyn Owusu Addo (Titi), family, and Akon had this to say after his win:
“I just want to say thank you to the Almighty God. To my family, this one is for my lil girl Titi (Adalyn Owusu Addo). I think Africa has always had it and it is about that time. This year is the Year of Return and I will urge each and every one of you here to take a trip back home. When you’re coming to Africa, choose Ghana.”
