See 2019 AFRIMA full nominees list: Nasty C, Davido, Burna Boy, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, others nominated
The 2019 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA 2019) nominees’ list has been released and it comprises of 10 Regional Categories and 26 Continental Categories.
The main event which will be held from November 20 – 23 has the public voting for the awards commencing on September 1st, 2019 and closing on November 22nd, 2019.
Leading the pack with the highest nominations of the 6th edition of AFRIMAs is South Africa’s Nasty C who got an incredible 9 nominations in the categories: Artiste of the Year in Africa; Best African Rapper/Lyricist; Song of the Year in Africa; Producer of the Year in Africa; Male Artiste in Southern Africa; Best African Collaboration; Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Hip-Hop; Songwriter of the Year in Africa; and Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African R’n’B & Soul.
Davido followed closely with 6 nominations in the categories of Artiste of the Year in Africa; Song of the Year in Africa; African Fans’ Favourite; Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African R’n’B & Soul, Best Male Artiste in Western Africa; and Best African Collaboration for ‘Blow My Mind with Chris Brown.

Kuami Eugene got 1 nomination in the “African Fans’ Favourite” category for his song, ‘Oheemaa’ which features Kidi.
Sarkodie also had 2 nominations in Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Hip Hop, and Best African Rapper/Lyricist – for ‘Bibii’ ft. LJ, Tulenkey, Frequency, K. Mole, ToyBoi, Yeyo, Amerado, 2Fyngers, Obkay and CJ.
Ghanaian dancehall artistes, Stonebwoy & Shatta Wale will battle it out for the same award in the category of Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Reggae, Ragga or Dancehall.
Burna Boy has 5 different categories to compete in and they are: Artiste of the Year in Africa; Song of the Year in Africa; Best Male Artiste in Western Africa; Album of the Year in Africa; and Best African Collaboration with ‘Killin Dem’ featuring Zlatan’.
Tamer Hosny, the Egyptian artiste had four nominations.
