Tracey Boakye is a Ghanaian actress, movie producer, singer, entrepreneur, television & radio personality, and brand ambassador.

She is famous for her banter with Ghanaian female artiste Mzbel, that resulted in what has now become known as the popular “Papa No” tag.

The ‘Atonsu Billionaire’ is the proud owner of Shakira Movie Productions, Shortcode Bar & Grill, Sharp Delivery, Signature Unisex Salon, and Shakira Entertainment.

The mother of two currently has about 14 self-produced movies to her credit.

Tracey as a singer released her first single titled, ‘Try Again’ featuring controversial gospel musician, Brother Sammy, on February 1^st, 2020.

Tracey Yaa Boakye was born to Mr and Mrs Boakye some 30 years ago in Kumasi, Ghana.

Her parents divorced when she was very young, and both her mother and father have entered into different relationships.

At age 14, her father, Mr Boakye relocated her to his base in Canada to further her education but was unable to cope with the situation there.

After spending 8 months with her dad in Canada, Tracey Boakye was relocated to the United Kingdom to stay with her mum but could not also cope with the situation there.

At age 16, the ‘Baby Mama’ producer took a bold decision to return to Ghana to pursue her acting career.

Hometown

Tracey Boakye comes from ‘Atonsu’ in Kumasi, where she was born and raised by her grandmother, and partly by her mother.

Tracey could not complete her junior high school education in Kumasi because her father, Mr Boakye decided to relocate her to his base in Canada to further her education there.

She relocated to London and later returned to Ghana to continue her education at Angel Educational Complex in Kumasi but stopped schooling after 3 terms (1 year) because of her disinterest in education.

Tracey Boakye currently has two children, namely Kwaku Danso Yahaya (son) and Nana Akua Nhyira (daughter).

Interestingly, both Kwaku Danso Yahaya and his younger sister Nana Akua Nhyira are Wednesday borns.

Kwaku Danso Yahaya, who is Tracy’s first child, was born on Wednesday, August 27th, 2014.

In May, 2021, it was reported that Tracey Boakye had welcomed her third child (daughter) with ease.

However, the East Legon Landlady as she affectionately calls herself, is reported to have lost her newborn baby (daughter) few days after delivery.

According to an insider, Tracey who was traumatized as a result, was hospitalized whilst she mourned the loss of her newborn baby.

However, the two best friends of Tracey Boakye, Afia Schwarzenegger and Diamond Appiah have denied that the East Legon Landlady lost a baby after delivery.

Tracey Boakye is not officially married but has two children with two different fathers.

The father or baby daddy of her first child Kwaku Danso, is a known former Kumasi Asante Kotoko football player and member of the 2014 Ghana’s local Blackstars team by the name, Yahaya Mohammed.

The baby daddy of her daughter Nana Akua Nhyira Maame, has long been alleged and rumoured to be former President John Dramani Mahama because of her association with him and his political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Tracey has, however, categorically and vehemently debunked the rumour that former president John Mahama is the baby daddy of her daughter since their relationship is political and not an amorous one.

The next person alleged to be the bankroller and baby daddy of Tracey Boakye’s daughter, is Ghanaian millionaire and CEO of Angel Group of Companies, Dr Kwaku Oteng.

On November 9th, 2020, an audio that circulated on social media had Stonebwoy’s aide, Ayisha Modi — whose response to Afia Schwarzenegger’s insults — claimed that it was the same loudmouthed Afia Schwarzenegger who informed her (Ayisha Modi) that she (Afia Schwar) and Tracey Boakye intentionally duped ex-president John Mahama with the baby when they knew Dr Kwaku Oteng was the baby daddy of Nana Akua Nhyira.  

Tracey Boakye has, however, rubbished Ayisha Modi’s claim that Dr Kwaku Oteng is her bankroller and the father of her daughter, Nana Akua Nhyira.

Tracey Boakye vs Kennedy Agyapong on John Dramani Mahama’s Dubhai trip

In the run up to the 2020 Ghana Presidential and Parliamentary elections, Member of Parliament for Assin Fosu Central, Kennedy Agyapong made some wild allegations against Tracey Boakye whilst on a New Patriotic Party (NPP) campaign platform.

According to the loudmouthed lawmaker, who was on an NPP campaign platform at Achiase in the Eastern Region of Ghana, former president and then NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama traveled to Dubai to chill with his girlfriends and even bought a cheap house for Kumawood actress, Tracey Boakye.

Tracey Boakye vs Mzbel: ‘Papa No’ controversy

On December 5^th, 2020 — with some hours to the December 7, 2020, Presidential & Parliamentary Elections — an audio conversation between Tracey Boakye and her rival Mzbel, fighting over ‘Papa No’ popped up.

According to the contents of the audio, Tracey Boakye accused Mzbel of intentionally destroying her to “Papa No” — who according to the audio was identified as former president John Dramani Mahama.

One damning allegation in the audio made by Tracey was that, Mzbel sent a text to Mr John Dramani Mahama, requesting to also sleep with him.

Tracey Boakye later claimed that the audio had been doctored, and that if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not have any message for the people of Ghana, they should not use her to win the election.

In 2020, Kumawood actress-turned-evangelist and former best friend of Tracey Boakye, Gloria Kani came out strongly to defend an earlier claim she made about an alleged amorous relationship between Tracey Boakye and former president John Dramani Mahama.

In the said claim, Gloria Kani in an Instagram live streaming alleged that Tracey Boakye and former President John Dramani Mahama had been seeing eachother.

She further alleged that Tracey intentionally blackmailed John Dramani Mahama to get all the properties she currently has.

Gloria Kani therefore called on the former President to run a DNA test on Tracey’s daughter because she knew the promiscuous Tracey Boakye was sleeping with other men — one in South Africa and another in the USA — whilst she was going out with him (John Mahama).

In her recent defence, Gloria Kani maintained that everything she said during her Instagram live streaming, was the truth and, as a result, did not owe anyone an apology by saying the truth.

Movie Career

In 2007, whilst in London, Tracy Boakye made the boldest move by challenging her mum that she wanted to relocate to Ghana to start her movie career.

According to Tracey, her mum got mad at her for taking that decision but she promised she would make her (mum) proud one day.

In 2008, after having relocating to Ghana to continue her education and later quitting it entirely, Tracey saw an advert on TV seeking new actors and actresses.

She called to meet the producer, Opam, who gave her the opportunity to shoot her first scene for her first movie.  

After producing 14 movies under the Shakira Movie Production owned by her, Tracy Boakye now strongly feels she has been able to fulfill her dream of becoming a star as an actress and movie producer.

At age 28, Tracey Boakye indicated in an Instagram post that she is the proud owner of two (2) mansions at East Legon in Accra, Ghana.

According to the ‘Baby Mama’ producer, owning properties was never part of her plans until she met Ghanaian movie producer, Kofi Asamoah, who encouraged her to relocate to Accra to start making something.

She stressed that showing off her properties was not for hype but to motivate the youth in working hard to achieve their own.

The ‘Baby Mama’ producer has a foundation known as Tracey Boakye Foundation.
