Sammy Gyamfi is a smart and outspoken Ghanaian lawyer, politician, and high ranking member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The firebrand lawyer-cum-politician is currently the National Communication Officer of the biggest opposition party in Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The bold, bravery, and fearless lawyer, Sammy Gyamfi has been the chief t0rmentor and a th0rn in the flesh of the governing party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Sammy was born to Mr and Mrs. Gyamfi at Old Suame in Kumasi where he’s lived most part of his life.
Hometown
The young Ghanaian politician hails from Wamfie in the Bono Region of Ghana.
He has also lived part of his life in Sunyani.
Family
His younger brother, Dr. Daniel Gyamfi is a pastor and a professional medical doctor who graduated with distinction from the University of Development Studies’ medical school in 2020.
Senior High School, University Education
Sammy Gyamfi started his basic education at Living Waters International School and Glad Tidings International School.
Sammy completed St. James Seminary Secondary School in Sunyani for his senior high school education.
After SHS, he proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ashanti Region of Ghana, where he earned his first degree.
Sammy was admitted to the Ghana School of Law where he became the SRC President and later graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (abbreviated LL.B).
Sammy Gyamfi was called to the bar on Friday, October 5th, 2018.
Wife
On Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, Sammy Gyamfi tied the knot to his beautiful sweetheart, Irene Amankwaa Karikari, in a private marriage ceremony in Accra.
The private event was held at Chain Homes in Tse Ado, Accra.
The marriage ceremony which was strictly by invitation saw many bigwigs from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) grace the occassion.
In attendance were high profile personalities, including former President John Dramani Mahama and his running mate Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang.
Other bigwigs of the NDC who witnessed the private marriage ceremony were the current Chairman of NDC, General Mosquito Johnson Asiedu Nketia; former Chairman of NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo; Former Deputy Chief of Staff, Valerie Sawyerr; among others.
Son, Child
Sammy Gyamfi has confirmed initial reports that he already has a son with an unnamed Ghanaian lady.
In an interview with Adakabre Frimpong Manso on Neat FM in Accra in 2020, the NDC’s National Communication Officer confirmed that he is a proud father of one.
Sammy Gyamfi added that he has a ‘tight’ relationship with his son who became 10 years old this year, 2022.
He, however, did not disclose the name of his 10-year-old son.
Religion
Sammy is a very religious person and has maintained that he doesn’t joke with matters of spirituality and security due to threats he receives from unscrupulous people who mostly intend to bully or intimidate him.
In an interview with Bola Ray, he said:
“I try to shun all sorts of fear because like I said I don’t joke with my spirituality as a person and biblically speaking when you fear you attract it and so I live a very happy life and fear is not something I entertain…,
“The thoughts can come in your spiritual development as a person but you must reject the thoughts of fear and focus on the thoughts of love and peace because that’s what the bible says. I am very cautious, I take my security very seriously…”
Sammy Gyamfi Politics: National Communications Officer of NDC
Sammy Gyamfi’s political career began during his first year at the Unity Hall of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
According to Sammy, his interest in politics heightened because he always found himself in the company of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) tertiary group members known as Tertiary Education and Students Confederacy (TESCON), debating national issues.
He, however, stressed that he made a switch to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) tertiary group on campus known as Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) after he experienced discrimination and intolerance from members of NPP’s TESCON.
Sammy Gyamfi, after his switch, won the hearts of many members of the TEIN-NDC KNUST branch due to his outspoken nature and in-depth knowledge about political and social issues.
From 2011 to 2012, he rose to the top and became the President of NDC’s TEIN on KNUST campus.
From 2012 to 2016, Sammy Gyamfi was appointed by the then Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Mr. Kojo Bonsu, as the spokesperson and public relations officer for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
He also became the Communications Director for Ibrahim Mahama’s Exton Cubic Mining Group.
In November, 2018, Sammy Gyamfi contested and won massively the National Communication Officer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), beating his contender Fred Agbenyo by 4,000 votes.
He currently serves as the Convenor of the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ).
